Ok, so we all know the pros and cons of synthetic oil for engines. At higher mileage, synthetic is more likely to leak, more likely to begin burning and creating blowby, and if the engine already bruns a bit of oil, it'll get a whole lot worse with synthetic.
How about in transmissions and tranfer cases ? If the transmission is worn, or let's say slipping (mine isn't, but let's just assume there's some sort of issue), or the t-case is acting up, is switching to synthetic ATF going to make it worse ?
I'm more interested in the t-case, as I just changed my tranny fluid, and won't be doing that again until next year, but my t-case should probably be changed.
