Ok new to this forum.... i know all there is to know about a ranger but i recently rolled mine and bought a 95 explorer and im switching everything from the ranger over including axles in witch give me a none air trac axle or what ever they have up front in the explorers and will be controlled by locking hubs..... but ive come to this thing that the truck wont go in to 4x4 and that i have read up on the BWM and just want to know if that if i do this it will make it so that all the switch does is engage the T-case in to 4x4 and 4x4low from 2wd?

Thank's
Jon

ok i read up on the Brown wire t-case mod and now im confused do the explores only have 4hi and 4low gears in the t-case or is the also a 2wd gear as in rangers pre.2001?

There is no real 2wd mode. Even when the knob is set to Auto, the t-case still moves. This is why it is not suggested to do burnouts unless u are running a 4406, or AWD w/ the front driveshaft pulled, because u will burn up the t-case.

so basically an explorer is the worst gas millage ford..... ok next ? can i swap a ranger T-case over and bolt it to the trany in these..... the ranger had a 4.0 but the auto 5speed and the explorer has the 4.0 with the auto 4 speed.....

Ok, so here it is...your explorer its a 95 so it has a vacuum disconnect axle so in 2wd mode your axle is like having the driverside hub turned on in a traditional axle setup. In 2wd your transfer case is in the same position as it would be in 4auto. Your transfer case operates front axle power by an internal clutch so the brown-wire-mod will allow full power to the front axle IF you have the switch in 4auto or you manually control the front axle. You can put in a manual BW 1354 transfer case from a ranger or first gen explorer it will bolt right up.
