T-case question

I have a 95 X and when i go offroad it feels like my front wheels jerk and slip when they have any strain on them. I was told it was a loose or streaches T-case chain. How could you fiure that out and fix if it is so. Or will i have to take it to a shop and spend 500$ on it????

Assuming you're in 4-lo, jerking and slipping would be normal, especially if you are turning. Just normal binding & releasing of the drivetrain.
