Well some of you guys told me to go to wal-mart or other auto parts stores to get me a connector for my plug on the back of my Ex (which has the tow package). So I got up there they only had T-connectors for 87'-? F-150s and for 93' Rangers. I figured the Ranger would be the same as the Ex, so I got it (for friggin $30). I fit perfectly in my tow plug, but when I hooked it up to the trailor; no lights. I know the trailor lights work cuz they work with another truck. So I took the T-connector back and searched every auto-parts store we have thurougly. Nobody had what I needed. Not even Auto zone. They said they'd have to order it and that it might not even be the right part.

One thing I'd like to know is if the 1st gen has a 6,7, or 8 pole adapter, cuz I think I count 7 on my plug. The Ranger adapter I had, had 6 prongs going into it, so I'm guessing that's why it didn't work. But then I learned I had to d/c my brake lights and plug them back in through the T-connector. So is this the reason it wouldn't work by just plugging into my tow plug? I dunno, some1 just set me straight here, I don't wanna burn up my truck trying to make this stuff work.
