Tach Question

I need help, My tach does not work all the time, is there a sensor associated with this, I dont think that ford uses cables any longer. Sometimes it will stay on zero, other times it will work. HELP 96xlt 5.0

I have the same problem. It's the Tach that is problematic not any other of the gauges. Did you get an answer?

Yes- it uses a sensor, not a cable. I Forget where it is, would have to check my Haynes or Chiltons manual. I know the manual showed location and troubleshooting for it. Sounds like a faulty sensor, or possibly an intermittent short in the wiring. Sorry- I'm not much help.
