Tach wire, 91' sploder..

*Note, I searched first, and read all the threads.

Where is it? I installed a bulldog remote start today, and it says to hook it up to the yellow and tan wire at the coil. But there isn't one. So I hooked it to the yellow and black wire at the end of the harness(oppisite the red power wire)

sometimes it starts just fine, but other times it just won't crank in long enough to start, so i'm assumeing somthing is wrong with it.

What wire did everyone else use for the tachstart mode on their first gens?

you can use the injector wires too. Look at the two wire coming off each injector. Use the wire that is different. Make sure you sodder (*sp?) the connection DO NOT use a t-tap.

I used the tachless mode on both my 93 and 94 without any problems

i also cant seem to find the tach wire on my 92 sport....and mine says i have to have tach hooked up.....
it starts perfect but shuts off right away so i need to try to find this thing tomorrow....

Hmmm well I think I originally hooked up my tach wire then disconnected it. It was somewhere near the fuse realys in the engine compartment. I will check and find the wire color for you.

Tach wire for both should be Tan/Yellow found at the coil.

the tach wire also goes through the engine harness into the body harness on your trucks (the big white plug on the firewall)

It is typicallt brown with a yellow tracer

I guess it is a teast port or something cause I chased the wire to there and figured it was the easiest place to tap in for tach
