i searched for this but didnt get a real good answer so ill ask it.

my mom has a 06 ex she doesnt like the tail lights i know there is no aftermarket for this body style, i have been reading that the 02-05 and the 06-10 are very close, most of what i read was people taking 4th gen and putting them on 3rd gen. i want to do the other way around. of course im getting aftermarkets for 02-05 i do wiring in my sleep so thats not a problem. all i really wanted to know is if they will fit. i read the 4th to 3rd needs cuts and new mounting pins, just wondering what to expect if i try this.

thanks

Externally, they fit just fine. Internally, you do have to relocate the "alignment pins" (not sure what else to call them) and trim the hole where you relocate them to. The screw out of the original location, but the new location protrudes too much and the hole is too big for the threads. I didn't trim mine enough, so they don't sit as flush with the body as they should. I think I trimmed about 1/4", should have been more like 1/2". Electrically, I know I had to splice the Reverse wiring. If I remember correctly, that's all I had to do (it's been a few months).

These are the ones I mounted on my '07 (not sure if it was the same vendor!): SONAR 2002-2005 FORD EXPLORER SMOKE LED TAIL LIGHTS
