Edgar_88--I think that they're equally cool, but more dependent on the color of the Ex--and whether all the other lights were smoked. By themselves--I don't think so. JMHO

i agree, i really dig them, but i think the ones i have fit better on my Ex

Nice!!

During the install, the plug for the LED goes into the light bulb receptacle. It can go in upside down--ergo, watch the polarity. So far the blink is the same as before, but I only tested it once.

With the color of your truck I would tape off the clear and tint the red a bit with spray tint darken it a bit. Make it darker to more closely match your truck, well thats my style at least.

Thanks for the suggestion WhiteLimited, but I personally don't like dark taillights. And, they are harder to see in the bright sun we normally have around here.

They look sinister and classy at the same time...:thumbsup: Are the reverse lights any brighter or is there more light?

Donner: The backup lights are a lot brighter. The whole bulb shows through the clear lens, and it has a more focused reflector. I immediately noticed that I could see more when backing up.
I am really pleased with the lights. I like the look a lot better than the stock lenses and other aftermarket lenses--it looks more finished--probably because it looks like it was designed with the Explorer, not just adapted to fit, and of course, it sets mine apart from every other Mineral Grey Explorer in this area. (I almost think that Ford made more Mineral Grey than any other color--although I know that not to be true.)

I hope to see a pair under the tree this Christmas :) Those are excellent!

Can you get a night shot of the reverse lights? You might have snow pics for us this weekend, no?

I'll get shots of the lights at night over the weekend
Snow--I don't do snow, :thumbdwn: unless by some miracle it falls in the central valley, and even then it won't last long on the roads. I don't think that it is even forecast for us here.
(I spent 2 years in south-central PA, that was more than enough snow driving for me, and went camping in Yosemite in January only once.)

Here are three shots (however bad they might be). Stop Lights-w/CHMSL; regular taillights w/o CHMSL; and backup lights.
Also, no snow or even rain today in my part of the valley.
