Does anyone know of some pretty tame trails near the Fort Collins, CO area? I'm not talking about lame stuff, but something you could do alone in a stocker without being to worried about getting stuck?

How about in the Cheyenne area too? I'm up there a lot.

Thanks

I wouldn't reccomend doing anything alone outside of walking distance from help anywhere.

$h*t happens. I've seen people get stuck turning around in an open field.

Con one of these guys into going with you.
It'll be worth it.

Good luck

I agree. At least tell some one where you will be going and give them a time. Also carry a cell phone with you.

Well, when I say alone, I mean "with the girlfriend, a cellphone, and your basic survival supplies that are always in the truck". That's about as "alone" as it gets for me, but I get your point.

That aside, hows about some trails?

I know of some, but not really enough to tell you how to get there, except one.

There are a lot of trail north of Boulder, there is a way to get to the NF by turning West on 36. I have been there a total of five days and still haven't explored all of the trails up there.

Lets see, let me get my book.

Turn West on 36 at Altona, hwy 94, then look for a NF entry, there is probably a lot of dirt bikers parked off the road.

That is a fun area.

Sorry, once on the road it will fork. If you go straight you will pass a lot of shooting ranges, then reach a hude boulder in the middle of the road. I didn't want to try a pass. By truning left, up the hill goes, you will go to the area with tons of spur roads that go eveywhere.

Thanks ahhjaws, the shooting ranges sound cool too.

Check out Bunce School Road. It's west of Longmont. I don't remember exactly how to get there but if you look up Mattadams on here you can go to his website and he has some instructions on how to get there.

I really don't know of to many more tame ones.

If you have the Wells book check out 7-mile road. That is easy and has some fun off shoots.
For something a little harder there is Moody Hill which we took two stock Jeeps on and they made it.

There is also Flowers road which is pretty easy but I haven't been on that for a few years so it might have changed by now.
