well the probs i had with the ex are now all sorted, the mechanic (mobile) that i used to change the injectors, (thought it safer to use a mech lol) well he manged to turn the front end of the car into an inferno:mad: that it took a fire engine to put out,so know the ex doesnt knock any more infact it wont ever do anything again:(.
so all in all had fun with the old girl while i owned her and kept her longer than most other cars i have had but the ex era is now done time to find something new to turn my attention to (and not let mechanics near:rolleyes:)

well thankfully he is insured (i think) he started of saying his excess was 500 odd and would i take a trooper for the damage then didnt want to mot it so we said no sod you we want your insurance so he came yesterday and gave us his details and took our details so his people could liase with our insurance so hopefully some1 will pay us something but it had better be his public liability people that do,just hope they dont offer silly money like 200 like you hear insurance people doing all the time.
shame though as now have to buy a new car which is a hassle especially as i wasnt looking for another car was pretty happy with the old girl.

Hey Jays 2 things
Get the ex back as part of the settlement for parts
Never accept the first or even second offer. remember it's their insurance company not yours so you could insist it is returned to pre damage condition. Also even if you don't have a courtesy car remind them that you could have at their expense until a reasonable settlement is reached. Also check out the prices for similar condition ex's on auto trader and other sites ie market value (not ebay), i think there is a price check on Wisebuyers guide website. Having a real idea of the value puts you in a strong position. Not saying screw them but get a fair settlement, Good luck and then get another ex!!!!!
