I have friends.....

....coming from WI for Turkey Day, I don't know if they are taking their truck or not and with my X still kinda outta commision I'm not makeing any defident plans. However, if possibly someone is looking for two backseat drivers at least for wheeling I know we'd be about camping.

Probably just a day trip for me, as well. Always willing to make it a two-day trip, though - just have to see how things shape up...

it would be a day trip for me. friday after thanksgiving sounds good.

Is anybody out there? We havent heard from anybody lately. The Friday after Thankgiving is only 3-weeks from today.

I'm pretty sure that I'll be there Friday morning post turkey day. I finally fixed my sway issue, I put new leaf springs on, replaced my rear sway bar bushings w/ new ones, and took about 2.5"s of lift off of the rear by taking off my extended shakles and putting the OEM shackles back on. So far so good, no more wobble.

-Edit-2 days later it started to sway again and I finally narrowed it down to the front end, it turns out that I had some worn out radius arm bushings as well. I replaced them with Energy Suspension polyurathene bushings and finally solved the problem, hopefully for good this time, but thats just wishfull thinking, I'm sure next week something else will break.

I would expect we'll be there and camping. Still don't have any defident plans.

i might be down if my truck isnt ready for paragon, i went through a few of the trails last spring and it was a nice enjoyable 3-4hr run plus a picnic at the top.

I'm still in for Friday after Thanksgiving. I'll be coming from Fredericksburg and will cut across towards Charlottesville, rather than come through Richmond. Just let me know where to meet you - Charlottesville, Staunton, or????

I am hoping to drive my X. I have still got to do the shocks. I will still go even if I have to drive my Ranger.

I believe that there is a parking lot at the trail head. Anybody with experience on these trails know for certain?

there are quite a few gast stations in edinburg, getting there is easy its right off i-81, i will more than likely be going on this run instead of paragon

Melissa and I are up for camping Friday and Saturday night, anyone else?

Also, are we wheeling Fri, Sat or both?

We will most likely be leaving Richmond Wed night or Thursday morning for some camping/hiking.

i cant make it friday but im pretty sure ill be there saturday, im not sure about camping it mihg tbe a bit to cold for that

Cold!! It probably wont even get down to freezing!

I *might* be game, probably just a day trip. I'm not sure where this place is, but I'll find it! I'll post back by this weekend and let ya'll know for sure or not. Need to make arrangements with my daughter first (not sure how a 5 year old girl would like it....then again.....). I'll let ya's know for sure =)

I'm still pretty stock, and it'll "prep" me for the paragon run im working on :)

If I do go, Saturday is best for me unfortunately, work on friday at 4pm

There is a parking lot / gathering area at the top of the ridgeline on rt 675. There are also a few pulloffs and camping areas further down towards Edinburg if you need one.

Matt,

Do you have any idea if the trails are open?

Are you interested in going with us and if yes, would you like to be our guide?

Still not sure if I can due to family coming in. I'm going to try to be around but my latest Explorer has no real modifications yet and not a lot of tread on the tires so I'm not sure it would do well.

Which trail are you planning on running - the one that goes north from Taskers Gap? I'll try to take a swing by there this weekend and check on things. I'm in the northern Virginia area during the week. I know the ATV / dirtbike trails must be open because I see people heading that way all the time.

There is a place to camp at the north end of the peters mill trail (north of taskers gap) called little fort camp ground. You can get a trail map from the forest service website.
