TC swap from control trac to manual??

I am sick and tired of the assinine control trac transfer case in my 95 Xlt. Being there seems to be no way to have just 4 wd Hi with this system. I am thinking about swaping the whole transfer case out for eather a manual shift case or electronic shift. Say out of a 4.0 ranger.

Other than cutting a hole in the floor for the manual shift lever on the manual one. Is there any problems I may incounter with such a swap. Would I have any problems with the front end?????

You might want to try using the search feature. There are several members that have either completed or are in the process of dooing the same swap you are talking about. I just swapped my t-case out from the electronic shift to the manual, and most of the info I needed I found using the search feature.
