Alright fellas, It's Alive! But I have a few ?'s that maybe someone could answer. first, Can I eliminate the carcoal filter thing that the gas tank vents through uunder the hood? Does any one know if there is any way the eliminate the O2 sensors, and how? I'm asking cause this 92' X only has 1 O2 snsr. and I'm putting duals from the headers all the way out. Well thanks, I'll get some pics posted soon, just have some things to finish up on.

Elimination of the O2 sensor is not possible. The fuel injection relies on the inormation from the sensor in order to adjust the air/fuel mixture. Why do you want to run duals? IMHO, dual exhaust on a 4.0L is a total waste of money. A single 2.5" exhaust will flow far more than any 4.0L could ever produce. But in the end its our money, so do what you want, but you will need to keep your O2 sensor no matter what you decide.

Hey cool, Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure if is was a stupid ?. How bout controlling the air fuel mix yourself, by making something like holley projection? just wondering. alright, one more possibly stupid ?, my exhaust wont cost me much, I considered dual warlock mufflers, they have built in dumps, Is this not a good Idea? Ive got good mods, it's not stock. I'm just trying to get some Idea's

C'mon, fella's I need some more input! Thanks

Unless you have forced induction or nitrous, let the computer control fuel and timing.

Take it easy and don't Over-Engineer yourself. Definatly don't do true duals on ANY 4.0!! I ran them on my high performance supercharged 4.0 OHV and hated it, I had 2.25's and it even sucked. Another thing, it isn't as easy as you think, you'd have to move the fuel tank somewhere as its in the way beneath the driver's seat, I ran a bronco 2 tank on mine.

Stay simple and you'll get more power then trying to customize everything, you'll be happy in the end.

Well if you did duals you could do a H-pipe so you could use the o2 sensor. but then why wouldn't you just keep the y-pipe then. Or just do single and save your torque. Just my opinion

Ok, so I'm not going with true duals, Any suggestions on what I should do for exhaust from the Y-pipe back??

2.5" high flow cat, 2.5" pipe and your choice of muffler. YES, I recomend running a cat. Why, the engine will preform alot better with the back pressure created by the cat and any quality aftermarket monolithic (sp?) cat will flow far more CFM than the 4.0L could create.

I agree :D

On my 94' X I had the cat. removed, and It seemed to make a noticeable increase in power with almost no other mods, now on my 92' X, with way more mods, I should put a cat back on? Could I possibly build the back pressure with smaller exhaust? say 2" or 2.25"? I'm not totally against a cat, I'm just not sure I want to spend the extra money.

Bump.
