I have dimple dies......
And would buy more....
I also have a 1" pattern grid that would make it easier to draw.
I need to find an affordable digitizer.

Not really much to update. We're in the middle of buying another house, so that's the focus for now. I'm slowly learning Fusion 360 and working on the boxing plates. Today I snuck out and made a lug wrench that would work with my rims

Good luck with the house purchase! Get good at signing your name and initials with the mouse hahahaha

I miss the days when buying a house was easier than buying a car. The days of stated income are long gone.

Nice lug wrench mod.
I've got a few star wrenches I welded a ratchet extension on to so I could swap on whatever size socket I wanted.

Save the cad file or templates! I have a frame off bii project coming (or two)
Yeah, what Jamie said. I have a 1991 4 dr 4x4 that I need to sell him. If my (neighbor) Jamie was a bit closer, he would buy it.
Response to post #179. Generally, after a sandblasting quote for people that have never had any done, it is not until they see the results of the first $60 worth, then they are believers. At out resto shop, we media blast. We only charge while the equipment is running. Ie, 20 minutes = $60-.
If you don't mind me asking, what did the frame cost to sandblast?

And now they have laser
Blasting and ice
Blasting getting some amazing results

Watching the laser stripping is pretty amazing. I kinda want one.

Yep I just got a tig welder couple years back and barely know how to use it
Now laser welding is a thing and so much want
220 mig still does just about everything I need so hard to justify more z$$$

Sorry everybody. I've been busy, so just catching up.
Here in Emmett, he charged me $300 to do the frame when he could fit it in. I was quoted $300-500 without seeing it. What I posted is what I took him, so it was completely stripped.

For you other guys, I've been considering a new MIG/TIG/Stick combo, but can't really justify it unless I get a job that pays for it.

This house deal is just now really ramping up, so I probably won't have much on here for a few weeks.

That is a really good price on the frame blasting and what I see in the pics looks like a really thorough job. Media blasting is so much a time saver.
I appreciate you sharing the information.

No problem. The only area that was a little light on blasting was inside the frame where the steering box is. Not sure how you could really get in there, so I'm not blaming them. I have been scraping it out with a screwdriver, and will probably hose it with paint and call it good enough.

There's lots of nice chynesium multi process machines out now.
Check out meltin metal Anthony and chiason smoke on YouTube. They have some odd ball machine reviews.

I run the blue machines so I'm not much help here.

My $750 harbor freight titanium
Multi process arc tig mig 220v machine does it all
Except make sure you get one that can handle a spool gun so you can load aluminum wire

Don’t be afraid of harbor freight welders
I did the research for you and have tested that machine.. it flat out works for the $$$

Harbor Freight has slightly improved the quality over the years. Used to be job specific tools, meaning you got 1 job out of the tool, now they last awhile.

Comparable Hobart or
Miller or Lincoln likey made in the same dang place and double the cost $1700 I mean it’s a no brainer for me

Sure if your scott and you weld a crapload then get the miller and the factory support and account at the supply house but for us hobbiest … thanks harbor freight!

I've bought all my blue machines used. I have a great miller rep that comes to my shop and takes care good of me. Customer service is a big deal to me.
I did just buy the new HF Fortress gas powered compressor and am extremely impressed.
