Temp gauge dances

Another issue on my 96.
My temp gauge is dancing from just above C to about 3/4 way to H, then it repeats this over and over. It also did this on my 93 XT before I got rid of it, I replaced the Termastat, Water Pump, and even replaced the engine (not for that problem) and it never went away, I just lived with it, does anyone else see this happening?

Did you burp the cooling system after you replaced the thermostat and water pump...?

Sound like there might be air in the system.

I had a similar problem years ago with my '95, my problem was not with my cooling system but with the meter in the instrument cluster. It may not be your problem, but it might be worth checking out. Here's what I did to fix it.
