Temp guage issue??

I have a 2001 Sport Trac with a rebuilt motor (all new timing stuff). Also new 195 degree thermostat. Truck has been running great for 8-9 months. Temp Guage will sit almost directly in the center of the range after it heats up. But lately the guage now only goes 1/4 of the way up to center. Truck runs OK, no lost coolant, oil looks good. Heater works fine. Do i have a problem here or am I OK? Thanks in advance for the help.

Possibility I guess. I suppose the safest thing to do is replace it.
