TEMP Jumping around

My temp gauge usually just sits right in the middle of the guage like a good little temp meter, but lately it seems to rise a bit (not too hot, just a little warm) hang out for a second or two, then it falls back dead middle where it usually is. I doesn't seem like a huge deal, but it hasn't done that in the past. Any ideas? Bad thermostat? Air in the coolant?

Its not the end of the world, but I hate watching needles dance around on my dash...its annoying

thats what i thought...oh well, 15 dollar part, and half an hour of time, can't complain, could be worse!!
