Need a little help with something and this is probably a stupid question but so far I have not been able to find the answer. What is the standard operating temperature for a 98 V-8 Explorer? I am not comfortable relying on the idiot gauges in the dash (these are not accurate enough for me) so I installed 2 white face gauges (temp and battery) and I have not been able to locate what the standard operating temp should be. So far the temp runs between 195 and 210 with A/C on max. Also can you use a 180 degree thermostat? Any help would be appreciated.
