2000 expo
Yesterday I was doing some light off-roading in my 2000 expo and when I put the truck into 4 wheel high, it started making some strange rubbing noises. Turned it off and continued on. Drove an hour plus home and later that night and there were no issues.

On my way to the store today I started to get a knocking noise when I turn. I just got in from replacing the u-joint on the front driveshaft because I read somewhere on here that may be causing such a issue. I also replaced my front right CV axle last weekend. Some of the teeth were in fact broken and lose around in the cap of the u-joint.

I took the front drive shaft out and drove to the store for the u-joints and the issue was gone completly.

When I had my dad roll it while I was checking under it to see where the sound was coming from, it looked as if the rear driveshaft didn't want to spin at all and the noise occurred when it finally started to spin.

Should I try and replace the u-joints on the rear or should I jump to the assumption it's the transfer case?
Note I replaced the front u-joints first because it looked more simple and I'm no mechanic. My 4wd high and low still engage and work.

EDIT: Replaced the u-joints in the rear and didn't fix a thing. Front drive shaft is currently out again and problem is gone. Don't know where to go from here.
