Anyone know of a way to test the o2 sensors without using a code scanner?

I looked at the sensors and I fear they may be originals. I am heading on a long road trip next week and want my baby running in top shape.

Muchas Gracias!

P.S.-- Maybe if you all are lucky I'll post some pics of my trip. It should be quite an event.

Well I am curious about this as well, but what I have been told (and is hard to believe) is when an oxygen sensor goes bad the check engine light comes on. If the sensor is ok, the light will be off.

Go to Auto Zone (if available in your area) and they will print out a 7 page troubleshooting guide for O2 sensors for you.

Way too involved for me so I just replaced them both...

I say...

No lights...No sluggishness...No problem.

If I knew what I was talking about....I'd be a mechanic!
