Hey, Guys (and Gals)

Thanks for the speedy help...I asked around, and it seems that pretty much every Ford vehicle made in the last 6 years with a V6 uses this engine. (some exceptions, or course). Most people seem to think it's all good, so that's good enough for me to go on.

My next question is about transmissions...I have no idea which is better for off-road...manual, or auto? I do a lot of city driving, so auto is a plus, but if it's useless off road, then I will have to find a manual.

Any suggestions?

Since you say you do a lot of highway driving I would say go with the automatic. That is what we have and it still does good four wheeling. It really depends on how much four wheeling you plan on doing and since I don't like to shift anymore (OLD AGE YOU KNOW) I will take a automatic.
It has gotten us everywhere we want so far.
As for which one is more reliable I'm not sure.
Which ever one you get I think you will be happy with it.
I guess it depends on what type of four wheeling you do, mud, rocks, etc.
