That Damn Tranny

My tranny is leaking somewhere, but I can't figure it out. Is there a site that describes the flow of the A4LD and possible leakage points? Thanks for all your help guys.

dollars to pesos says its your front seal. The A4LD has a problem with them from the factory. the Aerostar had the same problem, but ford made a patch kit for them, but not the Exploder. go figure

Mine just leaked from there I think. After getting it rebuilt just 5 months ago. I got a few Bad pics you can look at.

I was in the shop with my dad today, and we were asking the mechanic about that bloody front seal.

My dad's X is leaking from there now, and mine still has a slow leak too. We are taking mine in on Thursday, so I will see how much it costs to fix for 'ya.

The mechanic said there is a new part for the trannies- a new front seal that has more give than the old type. He showed us an older seal, and explained that the old seals had to fit perfectly, and if the tranny was ever taken apart, it screwed the alignment of the seal up. The new type of seal will compensate for that.
