The 20$ brushguard(update 8-14-04)
Here it is, the 20$ brushguard. It is a Manik guard. I got it at a local boneyard the guy just wanted it out of his shop. With an arc welder and a "farmers rod"(if you have ever welded you'll know this to be a 6011 rod, it can make a good solid hold in mud rain dirt and rust. good stuff) anyways i dovetailed the guard to fit and made some "L" shaped brackets to mount it. it help up to 470lbs standing on it and it did not budge. it is NOT welded to the frame, just the brackets. This will go to show you that if you find a brushguard not made for your truck and you know how to weld you can save some $$. Special thanks to my roommate mike the engineer/welder.
heres some pics.
all nuts bolts and washers are grade 8.
The brushguard.
The bracket.
How it fit, dovetailed BETWEEN THE FRAME RAILS.
