Thought I might need a larger bag.

Lol yeah looks like the bdos is gonna run for me. As with any intermittent problem time will tell but I think i probably got it done. Now i need to pull my cases out and reseal them and mount my bypass shocks. My dd took a dump on me though, i might have to drive the bronco around for awhile. So it kinda needs to stay driveable for the time being.

kid brother got married on Saturday, I drove the bdos over there and it seemed like every relative I ever had wanted a ride in it. drove it around quite a bit and no issues, seems like my intermittent stalling issue may now be resolved, time will tell

got bored and needed some garage time tonight so I went out and cleaned up my stubs that I'm going to run on the waggy 44 and the short side shaft I have and put them together with a brand new 760x spicer joint I had laying around. I need to find a long side shaft, rockauto has them new for 70 bucks or so so I might be going that route. daily driver took a dump on me and bent a few valves though so I think my cashflow is going to be going to fixing that rather than playing with the bronco, oh well its wheelable now so I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it.

here are some driveway fun pics from friday, went to set up for my brothers wedding and ended up screwing around with the trucks haha,

he has zero flex in that thing, the springs are super stiff, he is shock limited, and his shackles are completely frozen solid. still popped his tire up on mine haha, it may look like his passenger rear is on those railroad ties but it isn't, it is a foot and a half off the ground haha.

Wow I thought it was on the railroad ties too!

Dang Josh really doesn't have any flex does he.

no it really is pathetic, we put a breaker bar on the bolts with a 3ft cheater and couldn't break the bolts on the shackles loose, we need to get some 63" rear springs in that thing. I was hoping maybe we could make something work with the ones in it but its not going to happen

ok so I got off my ass today and did a little bit of work on the bdos, I need the back of the cab where I cut the roof off cleaned up so I can put some tube work there. I cut it off even and welded the actual roof to the support underneath, just need to cap where the roof uses to attach on the corners and i will call it good, there is going to be a peice of 1 3/4" dom in front of it anyway, I just want it to be clean.

also going to look at cutting out the bed rails and welding in some 1.5x1.5" angle iron I have laying around, just to clean it up a little, no sense in my rig looking like a pos rolling down the trail.

Lookin better and better.

You've already committed to fixing my hood latch... Maybe thats something we can do today...

Jon show um your welding skills. Take a cheap steel fence latch and weld to top of hood with your mig showing how it looks like a row of dimes. Don't forget chain and padlock.

lets put the rumors and accusations to bed, I can hold my own with the welder,

shoulda thought about me welding a gusset into your hood latch before you started bagging on my skills son!

haha just bring it down and ill put something together for you

I was driving down one of the dirt roads in the woods by my parents house and the bdos got a little squirelly on me, I'm pretty sure it was bk my shocks are shot, so I decided it was time for these to go on,

had to cut off the old mounts, the shocks had to be mounted up which meant I needed some f250 towers, happily Eric had some kicking around the shop, so here is the old mount, minus a few inches,

and here is the shocks and tower tacked in place,

the other shoocl mount he had modified to be straight up and down instead of being kicked out at a 70 deg angle, so now I need to modify it, ill post up pics of that when I get back out in the garage.

kinda forgot to take pics until I had it in and was painting it haha, I had to cut the side and beat on it with a hammer until I acheived 70 degrees to match the other side,

i'm gonna go for a drive tonight and see if I improved my rig in doing this.

these shocks are sweet, but my on road ride is def improved with these shocks, the old ones were obviously shot. I think at this point the only thing I can do is improve my suspension geometry, my suspension has some flaws in it. namely not enough vertical seperation at the frame end, this was caused by how high I put the frame end mounts on the lower links and the fact that I had no room to go any higher with the frame mount for the upper. I briefly visited the idea of a rad arm on the driver side and leave the existing link on the passenger side. but i'm worried at the angle my lowers are at my suspension would unload really bad, ill probably leave it as is. it performs very well in the rocks, and it is driveable on the street if I have to drive it there. btw 1000th post on EF!!! seems like only yesterday I was asking stupid questions all the time haha

Just wondering about your shock towers being that high. Wonder if you took a gusset from the upper end of the shock tower to the top of the coil bucket to keep the shock tower from flexing?
Congrats on your 1K post.

I thought about doing that but my coil buckets are adjustable and i think i want to go one bolt hole down, to raise the suspension back to level. They dont flew noticably but i agree there could be a problem there if it isnt adressed
