I don't leave home very often since I'm pretty well occupied on our farm but when I do, I'm either out playing in the bushes or driving to town...(prob. 6 miles out) I just recently changed oil, and filter, flushed power steering and replaced fluid, fresh tranny fluid with filter. Now anytime I hit 55 mph... Which is anytime I go to town the o/d starts flashing and now my check engine light is illuminated and staying that way. Door code is p076 using my obd2 scanner. Now before I go buy a new shift solenoid and assume the computer is right, what are all the other possible scenarios that could trip off this code?

it means Shift Solenoid #3 (SS3) circuit malfunction
so circuit malfunction does not mean change solenoid

The TCIL (o/d light) will flash if the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a concern in certain transmission related sensors or solenoids.

did you bump or pull any wires doin the tranny filter?

My 96 xlt had the delayed shift into 3rd and the P076 code with blinking OD light, turned out to be a small hole in the rubber part of the rear servo piston. Easy to check and replace, except for the exhaust will need to be dropped to get to it.

I'm going to second wiring if it started after the fluid and filter change. Any drivability concerns other than the flashing light?

Had the same issue with my 95'. turned out to be band # 2 had broken.
Does it shift through all the gears?
Is your OD button on or off?

If you have a check engine light and o/d. Flashing shouldn't there be more than one code did you check for any pending codes? It's my understanding that check engine light is motor related and o/d light is transmission related 4wd lights flashing is control Trac/gem related blinking cel is Miss fire etc...

What year is your ex? And is it a V8 or v6
