The easy way of installing an rear-main seal

i guess there's no easy way of doing this,this is one of those things where the part doesn't cost you but labor will.

What did you guys do ?...take the engine out or take the tranny with all the rest out and leave the engine sitting in it ?

While neither is real easy I would go throught the tranny, I am actually in the process of changing mine right now, I pulled the tranny, not by choice,(damn thing blew) but make sure it is not just oil leaking from the valve covers or the intake manifold gasket first, I thought it was my rear main too, but after we pulled the tranny, it is actually just barely starting to seep, the leak is coming from the intake and running down the tranny looking like the rear main.
