My story......

Well the legacy began about 2 years ago when a coworker of mine sold me this car for 75 dollars. At the time of purchase the car was running on three cylinders, had a leaking gas tank, all 4 struts were blown leaking fluid, needed new rotors and pads, new windshield and a set of tires. After completely rehauling this POS I drove it from Hyde Park to White Plains, NY for a year straight. If anyone lives in the area you would know that's about an average of 160 miles or so everyday just for work. After two NY winter's worth of beating, the rear passenger floor board was completely gone. I decided to pull the carpet up one day because it felt wet and then I noticed the mass of cancer.

After everything I've put this car through, 3 cylinder driving, blowing a heater hose on Taconic State Parkway and basically overheating for 15 miles, running it out of oil, cutting the springs, bent push rod, broken valve spring, rusted and cracked exhaust manifold, fried CPU and rotted out floor she insists on seeing the future.

Everybody that has ever met my beloved Topaz gives me respect for driving such an inhumane beast but over time, I've come to have quite the friendship. This Topaz will be rounding the 200K mark anytime now. I'm very proud to have seen this car make it for so long.

A tribute post to my Winter Beating POS. I'm sure anyone into cars or trucks can relate when I say you have a friendship with a car in which you just can't part with.

A toast to all those POS' who love their owners........:)

The usual pose...

Bought a 93 T-bird V8 a year and a half ago off my co-worker for 300 bucks. Changed all the fluids, and put on a new set of tires. Car just keeps going, th odometer stopped working long ago, so the miles are unknown. However my co-worker use to make So Cal to Oklahoma trips in it a few time a year, untill he gave up on it and bought a new Tacoma.

This car will not die! :D  My dad drive it every day to work..

No A/C or heater
Trans is starting to shift funny, untill it's warm
driver window does not go up and down
ignition sticks and the key will not go in.
pass door lock does not work,
power antanna moves 6" only
and so and so on.

Lots of dents! and...it's Pink!:p:

How do you keep the body so nice in NY? Do you lock it in a garage overnight? I've been rear ended in a couple of vehicles, got dents from keeping it parked in the street overnight, been broken into a couple of times, etc.

That is a thing of beauty. It's funny you should mention all the issues it has, I forget to add those to my post earlier...
Rear Windows don't work
Automatic seat belts just grind but they don't roll up or down
Engine has a horrible tapping noise for the last 40K miles
Seat belt, service engine soon and most of the time the gas lights are all on
and I think one of my motor mounts is going.

Pink is INTENSE!

We should change this to the Post your beater thread

I live upstate so basically the body takes the beating from salt and occasionally a cow. :)

(in He-man voice) You have the POWER!!:D

LOL, brought back some memories. 80's babies like myself hear He-Man and get all excited. :)

Ok, I'm changing
