ok, i havent been on the board for a while, but now i got a problem and need some help. the infamous gas smell has returned. i know that alot of us have experienced this before as did i, i replaced the selinoid a couple of years ago and that fixed it. what i want to know now is if i can just bypass the selinoid with a peice of hose so i dont have to replace the thing again, or do i just need to give up on figurin out a way around it and just replace the selinoid again?

I would check for fuel stains on the tank incase you have a seam leak. I realize that your in the South, but you can still get a rusted weld seam. could even be the sender/pump lock ring gasket leaking. Could also be your fillet tube. I would check these also if you already haven't.

i know that the smell is coming from under the hood, and its really bad only after its been sittin out in the sun for awhile, which is typical of somethin wrong with the vapor recovery system
