'03 Rubicon - Tomb Raider
HWY 10 - just East of Desert Center on Sunday December 1st @ 3:15 p.m.

I was driving in the Westbound lanes and I looked over, and I saw this white Dodge Ram with a camper (?) pulling a flatbed trailer with THE GREAT PUMPKIN on the back of it! I said, "Look Honey, it's Rick Horowitz driving back to Arizona!" Suzanne was surprised that I was so observant.

YOU DON'T THINK I REALLY SAW THE GREAT PUMPKIN?

Okay, the doors were removed, and the steel door-thingy's were there in place of the orange doors.

One word for Rick:

Leave the doors at camp, they're getting banged up, and sheetmetal costs too much $$ to bang it up if you have an alternative!

Sounds like you saw Rick :)

I put my real doors back on before trailering to Truckhaven since we had rain this weekend. Once there I took off the drivers door and replaced it with the half door.

The stock doors weigh 80lbs a piece and it's not an easy process to quickly remove and reinstall them so we took our chances.

A Grand Cherokee rolled into a Heep!

About a minute before I spotted Rick's Orange "Serious Explorations" Billboard, I saw a full size pickup pulling another flatbed (heading East towards Arizona also) that contained a nice, brand new Grand Cherokee with the roof all caved in, with the windshield all spat out, etc. I guess Truckhaven can have a tendency to flip rigs upside down!

Yeah, my last trip to T-Haven, my buddy told me I almost rolled numerous times. Not fun! I felt queezy in the stomach a few times while in certain steep delines/off camber situations. One time in particular, if I hadn't gassed it when I did, I would have gone over. And they said beer on the trail prohibits driving skill!:chug: Just Kidding.

I had a near-miss too!

I drove into a crevace w/o my seatbelt buckled, trying to move out of the way of another group of 'wheelers out in Joshua Tree about a month ago with all of the guys. After seeing the dirt a couple of inches from my rear view mirror, I turned into the roll, and gassed it hard. My drivers-rear tire was up about 5 feet in the air. That's what Josh S.'s friends told me...
...I was pretty shaken up by that one, so I recovered from that frightening experience by driving to the mainland of Mexico and down to the Gulf of California to sample some of those monster shrimp they catch down there! The food in Puerto Penasco was superior over anything I've eaten in Baja, California too!:D Yummy!
