The next mod???

but im pretty sure ill come in just under 15 seconds at a little over 90 mph. especialy with my 93 tune and the 400 ish lbs im gunna rip out of this thing. when i had it in that state earlier this year i did my 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. Heads + cams going in this winter YAY!!

4 hrs to take your seats out??? HOLY SLOWNESS:D IF that's including the third row then I get it (I took my 2nd row seats and passenger out in 1 hour!)

I have run a best of 15.421 and you have a few more performance mods than I do so in theory, you should beat me. As Eric said, the more competition we can get the better:D

Anybody running nitrous yet?

According to the dyno charts I have in this book, our 4.6's can hold a 125 wet shot pretty easily.
(of course that was tested on Mustang 2v engines, although they are the same as ours.)

Im just curious why nobody sprays with their SUV?

I know the drivetrain will hold 400hp safely too.....(that one guy on these forums has proven it)
 






rocket sprays, but he isnt around to often anymore...best advice i have EVER gotten for these trucks was from rocket, wish i spent my money on a blower instead of bolt ons. Limited i have a 3rd row. AND disconecting the drive shaft is carefull work, if you damage the boot its ruined..and you have to buy a WHOLE new drive shaft to replace it...actualy, i may leave it on...just because its not exactly fun to put back on either.
 






I didn't know Rocket sprayed? I know he has a Kenne Bell 2.2? Rocket5979, Awdrocks and Mounty03 are the only ones that have pushed a 3rd gen.(I think?) I hope to someday be one of those guys:D Until then, I will stick with 15's:(
 






if i remember right he was breaking 630 rwhp before the nitrus spray, i havnt heard of any track numbers from him in awhile..but at just over 400 he took down that GTO...i have to say that is one of my favorite videos on the net.
 






Not calling you a liar, but I must have missed when he surpassed the 400+ mark. I know he had a billet engine built and never really got it finished because he had to relocate because of the army(or whatever he's doing) I know he mentioned his goals were to hit 650HP. And yeah I liked watching his vids at the track doing bunouts and kicking some ass. He also has the same wheels as I do:D I am going to PM him and see if I can get a response on what the dealio is.

I'm pretty sure he broke over 400 on his last build. And the current build was "finished" but I think he was breaking a lot of parts.
 












i think i read that on either his Cardomain page or one of his videos, he was talking about how he was making well over 170 hp over phase 2. Im not sure of course, only what i remember. WHERE IS ROCKET!?!? he should be awnsering this Q's.

i think He broke 400 on his 1st build stock 4.6L 2v at onlu 11 Psi if i remember what to told me.. he then droped in a 3v modular race engine from ford racing. he was making some serius power, he doesnt even drive it on the street anymore.

Has a 4.6 with billet internals 4.6, MPH 2.5 heads and a Kenne Bell 2.2 blower with nitrous(not yet used) If you look at the first link of my previous post, he got his 2nd phase running but was having some computer issues. The nitrous run may be from his Lincoln LS that put down like, 332 HP.(Now replaced with a G8) Ran high 12's I believe. First phase of the Ex he had it tuned to 360RWHP. After stage 2, no dyno yet(that I could find).

Anyway, I did PM him and let him know about this thread. If I remember when I last PM'd him about 3 months ago, he was stationed in Mississippi. If I get a response from him, I will make sure he gets here to clear anything up. I also think Awdrocks would know more because those two talked frequently at one time. Kinda bickered about who would be faster like techieman33 and I do:D

What is there for us to bicker about? As soon as my motor is done you'll only see me for a second or two before I'm long gone and your choking on my exhaust fumes:D

i have SEEN the motor from the pics that he has posted for sale on jegs.com and the heads are all wrong to be a 2v sohc. i almost GAURANTEE its a 3v ford racing hot rod motor. W/ Forged crank + rods + pistons. lets see what he has to say about it though.

as soon as my motor is done ill have all of the Import guys running for the hills. I cant wait to see what you guys are able to come up with in the future.
 






I dropped my ( 3rd cat ) resonator when i did my exhaust...

Sound wise... by removing the resonator the sound changed alot from 3000 RPM and up...

Performance... stock my x would pull until about 4600 RPM then i would just waist fuel after that, but when i had the exhaust done...

removed 3rd CAT, 2.5'' Piping, FM Delta 40, 2.5'' Piping, 3'' Magnaflow 20'' tip...


I could feel my X @ WOT pull untill about 5500 RPM, and when i say pull... i really mean PULL through the RPM range !!!

and then about a month after i bought a K&N Intake which not only made the sound deeper... i felt that i gained a little more power in the Mid to High RPMs which made the X pull a little bit harder :)


i would just increase the pipe size while your under the truck anyway... if you havent already...

Lol, I was just at an exhaust place near me today (not Pypes), and the guy was adamant that it was a third cat, not just a resonator, and that it would be illegal to take it off. Of course, he was also adamant that it would be stupid to try to do anything on the exhaust besides change the muffler. I was like, "Well, I'm going to get custom exhaust, just not from you any more," and then just walked away...
 






its a resonator, the magnaflow catback kit doenst have it. I just had to can my favorite mechanic too because he whated 280 to recharge my AC system...and i already paid him 135 for the whole service.
 






the " 3rd CAT " is not measured by and 02 sensor... so idk what your dudes issue was ???

i didnt wanna remove it at first, but the guy who did my exhaust showed me his wifes 2004 V8 X with the " 3rd CAT " dropped and it passed inspection just fine... so he swayed me and he just took it off...

I don't know what his problem was either. The son was actually pretty cool, was checking it out and coming up with ideas, but he was a little hesitant about messing with the cats at all, because if they did then the shop could potentially get in trouble. So he called his dad (the owner) over to discuss it with him, and that's when the "fun" began. I told the guy, everyone I've ever talked to said it's just a resonator, but whatever. Like I said, I'll just get it done somewhere else. I wish Pypes would email me back about the custom setup that they could then market to other X owners that are looking....but it's been like 2 weeks and not one f'ing reply...I'll probably just call them tomorrow....
