I need suggestions on what to do next to my X. so far I have installed a new cam...(a little more aggressive than the mustang GT cam), superchip, Granetelli mas air sensor, K&N open air filter, straight pipes. I want to get off the line a little faster, my door code for the axle is D4. I am going to intall a B&M shift improver, and Underdrive pulleys....Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.....

Not sure what the d4 ratio is, but the best bang for the buck when looking for out the hole performance is going to lower gears. I'd go with 4.10's on a street vehicle.

(cough) lift (cough);)

If you are getting underdrive pulleys, where are you getting them and what brand are they? The only company I've found that makes them is JET and they were nowhere close to fitting.

I actually got them from Jet...... The only problem I have to deal with is the change in rpm's. One problem I have seen is once I install the pulley on the alternator I wont be able to sit in traffic too long with out draining the battery....(or so Ive been told) Im not sure if this is a myth or the truth.....

Myth .

I was told the same thing before installing pulley's on my Integra and S-10 , not a prob. with either one . Go 4 It ;)

THANKS ROCKYMTNHI...... I GUESS I WILL DO IT..........

the D4 is a 3.73 LS.... i'de recommend going with the 4.10 as well

Cool thanks.............I guess Ill have to do some hunting...........

So, you are saying that the JET pulleys fit your Explorer? Could you give me the part number because I ordered a set and the bolt holes on the pulleys were too small and did not even line up. If you have them on yours and the part number is the same as the one I ordered, then the 99 must have a different setup. For instance, the hole in the middle of the waterpump pulley on my explorer has about a 1 1/2" hole to fit over the shaft for the fan and on the JET pulleys the hole was like 3/8". Is yours like this?
