God I hate this Bulldsh*t. The only vehicle worthy of the Hummer badge is a real Hummer H1. Not these piece of sh*t H2s and that f*ckin pile.

Disgusting. I am amazed everyday how fast the world is being flushed down the crapper.

Ugly! The old H1's were more rugged and were what Hummer should've always meant, the new ones are just horrible, they really messed up right there. It's more of an Excursion type vehicle now, they already have Suburban, Yukon XL, and Escalade, now there's the Hummer. And this 2004 one looks like the Escalade EXT/Avalanche.

People buy em, I see them EVERYWHERE around here (the H2s). If it makes the company money, sounds like a good idea to me. Thats bi'ness ;)

GM has severely neutered The Hummer
Just think what it will be like in two more years......shudder......

lowrider? daiten(sp?) spoke rims?

where do ya park a car like that ? there is a couple here one guy in my nehbour hood has one {its up the ass range rover mercedes and bmw mx 5s here]

I see H2's everywhere, mostly driven by soccer moms. Every time an H2 comes into the carwash I work at, I ask them if they've taken it off road yet. About 40+ Hummer owners I've talked to, none said they've taken it off road. And about 1/2 of the 40 were women.

Flame ahead, but I like it, seriously! I don't care too much for those silver fender flare thingies, but that's what trees are for. The rest I really like. I hope they make a non-luxury ute version made to work for a decent price.

Thats true of everyone that drives an SUV though. Ask Tahoe and Suburban owners, Explorer owners, Hummer H1 owners if they've taken the vehicles offroad. The H2 is nowhere special because its half driven by women (most SUVs are closer to 60% driven by women) or because they've never been offroad.

Its just the fact... SUVs really arent built to go off-roading. And thats why we have forums on this site that give us information on how to modify them to off road. Except for some pick-ups, can anyone name an SUV straight off the lot that actually performs really well off-road? The only one i can think of is the H1. And thats because anyone buying an SUV wants good gas mileage/good handling/and all that other stuff you dont get in a true off-roader. The HUMMER is known to be a true off-road machine and should stay that way. I really dont like what they're doing to the name by making the H2 and especially the H3. I see an H2 everytime i go somewhere and its rediculous, let the rich folks buy their Escalades and crap and let us real Off-Road guys dream of having a true "HUMMER"!!

Who's ever seen the Simpsons episode where they get that Red SUV??? I forget what it was called- but that was hilarious!!! :bounce:

Gotta think about it this way, a car company exists like any business does for one purpose only, to make money. GM purchased Hummer to do just that, and so far I'd say its doing a great job. You said you wanted to be able to dream of owning a Hummer, well they've capitalized on those dreams, now people can! No offense, but your dreams don't pay the bills, Hummer H2 buyers do. For every 100 SUV owners that want a big vehicle for look, ride height and hauling capacity there is one who wants to take it offroad. Any businessperson knows catering only to that one will get you bankrupt. Thats how it is.

People say the same thing about companies like Jaguar and Mercedes coming out with cheaper models. "It devalues the brand". It doesn't devalue **** if it turns a profit. Its business.

and the Simposns SUV was called the Canyonero ;)

IMO - H2's look like crap, H3 looks even worse.... The only one that should be on the road is the Original Hummer....

thats all gm cares is to make money your right stephen thats what they want. but they could at least do it in style. but hey what ever the consumer wants. the costomer is always (well 50/50) wrong. but if they want to drive in a peice of plastic let them. but when there front end meets up with my steel rear end. BRING THE PAIN. or vice versa. my 2cent (damn i seem to give alot of 2 cents out)

Well, the customer is never wrong. As a company that provides a product you can't just ignore a huge market of potential buyers because you think a vehicle is stupid. The customer is always right, they want what they want, and they're willing to pay out the ass for it. As a carmaker (or any type of company that makes a product or provides a service) you can't just come out with a vehicle that nobody wants, you'd go bankrupt. It would have been a very poor business decision for GM to ignore this demand for this vehicle. They can't make enough H2's, its a huge success and makes GM and dealerships a fortune.

You say "they could do it in style" well, they are doing it in style people love the H2, theres a guy down the road from me with TWO! He parks them on his lawn just because he can. They're everywhere here and they always draw a crowd. If you were talking about the Aztec, that was a flop for GM, then you could say "they could at least do it in style", but not for the H2. It is very much in style, and the buyers love it.

Your opinion is the vast minority, and thats why carmakers don't care about it.

i was being sarcastic about the customer always wrong. but what yu say is true. and also people want it for the name.

what gm needs to do is pretty much shrink the body of the real hummer. put lesser quality stuff but still like the best. and cheaper interior and id buy the H4 off of them.
