The official rollpan construction page

Well I measured the length of my dad's F150 bumper today. It measured approx. 70 inches long and my stock bumper is approx. 66 inches long. So, I have to shorten the F150 rollpan approx. 4 inches. Just enough to make a lot more work.

Already saw that, really doesn't apply to me since I'm making mine with fiberglass.

Well I thought of another variable that I'm gonna have to deal with that I hadn't thought of. I know I'll have to shorten it horizontal, but I'm thinking I might need to shorten it vertically too, which throws a MAJOR wrench into the whole project.

Updates as soon as they come...

I ordered the pan today. I will know just how much fabricating that needs to be done when I get it. I will post pictures of that next to my truck at that time as well.

Well, after e-mailing my order twice to the company, they have not responded. I have also tried to call in my order, but have gotten an answering machine. I was hoping to start on this this weekend, but I guess that's not possible.

thats why you dont start a thread before you at least get the supplies. my god, its the rollpan curse.

How about instead of no spare, running a donut off a Taurus or something. That should stay out of sight.

Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing.

I dont want to get this thread off the topic, but what about the LS rear and 4wd?

Well I don't have a LS and I don't think it would hurt anything if you did it only for emergency purposes.

What about like a Mustang pizza cutter? That'd be trick. 3.5" wheel. :D

I've been using these pics as a possible model for what I want to do. I have access to a welder and the know-how to use it, I just need to find the steel and time to do it. Right now I'm as far as Hartman's pics show...X sitting behind the house with no bumper. :D Hopefully I can start this weekend. Whatever I do I'll definately get pics when I do it.

So Hartman, what do you drive around since you've taken the bumper off? How long has it been off?

My bumper is on right now since I haven't started fabricating the rollpan yet. When I do get to that point, I will be rolling around without a bumper for a week, maybe two weeks.
