Went out for a cancer benefit poker ride on Saturday for 2 year old Lily.

I ended up following these guys around

I didn't go through that part, I was smart enough to go around.

Taking a break at one of the card stops.

This is at the end of the day. I made it through worse but the air filter was a little water logged and I couldn't get any power and didn't want to push things at that point. Got pulled out by a side by side and towed in by a Jeep.

Yesterday I put in a new air filter, pulled the plugs and MAF to clean and dry and everything is up and running well.

All in all it was a lot of fun. I impressed some of the Jeep people with the Trac's capabilities. Wish I had gotten some pics of me actually making it through stuff and not just stuck. Saturday also pointed me in the direction of some new projects.

1. Thinking about a snorkel. I know my only option is a DIY project. Is something like this possible on ours? I know a few of you have added one, how did you do it?

2. I believe it was Midnight who mentioned the poor welds on the tow hook mounts. Mine haven't snapped off yet, but it was at a pretty wonky angle at the moment. What did you guys do to correct this problem?

I never reinstalled my tow tools but I did straighten the brackets and rewelded them stronger. I eventually cut the brackets off when I welded the winch bumper on. Any of the snorkel write ups will be a good start to go by. John Rock did a snorkel on his ST as well. After I do my 351 Windsor swap I'll fabricate a snorkel for it even though my truck will be about 10" higher then it is now with the SAS and 37's. My laptop is not working right now so I don't have access to all the links but once I get it to work I'll post links to snorkels builds and other helpful stuff.

This is the exact reason I haven't sold my Trac and moved into a TJ. I like to have my bed space and still be able to hang with everyone on the trails. Looks like a lot of fun. Good call not pushing it after water getting in the intake. Trust me hydrolocking is not fun.

PS, Jerry good to see ya back on here! Hope the new job is going well.
