Here's some pics of my Driving Light install project!
This is the Rack after wiring: I still have to fabricate the Thru-the Rear Hatch mating harness. Sunday Project!!
I used a Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch wiring harness to give me a quick disconnect capability!
Here's a shot of the wiring harness bracket installed on the Rack:
I used Heat Shrink tubing on all the splices.
A shot of the wiring behind the lights.
Shot a gob of Silicone to keep the weather out!
I WAS planning to encase all the wiring in split-coiled cable tubing, but once I saw how UGLY it looked I decided to open-air my cabling....
Tomorrow's project is to fab up the mating harness and build the relay/fuse unit. I bought some 1/4 inch plexiglass to mount the relays, fuse holders, and terminal strips to...It'll mount where that pesky rear washer resivour is now!!!
I used #12 stranded wire, gave myself 3 separate circuits (plus a separate ground wire), so I should be covered when it comes to current handling capabilities!
If ya'll would like to see the completed relay assembly, let me know!!!
