Thermostat help needed quick!

OK guys my trucks thermostat is stuck shut. It is still stock. My truck is all ready for a new one I just need to get one. Can i get a 180 degree one with the stock computer? Would any problems be caused? I need to make it to a school banquet by 3 (3.5 hrs away). Thanks guys

Unless you have modified the ECC with a chip or flasher to run a 180 F thermostat, you will run more efficiently with the stock 195 F one.

Case in point. I noticed my truck wasn't warming up as much as it used to. Put a voltmeter on the ECT, and saw that the thermostat was opening at about 180 F. Replaced with a 195 F thermostat, and my gas mileage jumped 2-3 mpg.
