Hey guys,
Had leak from thermostat housing and started the replacement last night. 2003 Ford Explorer Sport
I used this walk through (http://bengrosser.com/howto/fordthermostat/) and found it very helpful. Only thing I did different is bought all the parts at a local autozone and I zip tied the heater hose out of the way once it was disconnected. It really gets in the way if you let it hang out. I replaced the bypass hose as well because mine had alot of crude on it and looks like it may have also been leaking. I didn't have a 8mm swivel socket but was able to get by with a 8mm socket plus swivel in the 1/4" socket size.

(I had to re-use my old upper housing piece to the water outlet would face the correct direction)

I did break a plastic tab when taking the housing out but luckily it fell in plain sight. If you have to replace this part - stay calm and resist the urge to try to pull out the upper manifold. Its super tight and looks impossible but it is not so bad. Good luck
