Good suggestion. I'm interested in knowing what all is different in these compared to the stockers.

I e-mailed ProCarParts and they said they don't have anymore in stock. I asked if they were going to be getting more in, they gave me the ol' 'keep checking back'.

well, i dont know if that was from their old stock.....they said they have another shipment comming in...and if im right, should be 1-2 weeks....did you asked them to rrespond/look at this this thread? if they are true projection headlights, then they will have them sold out because off all the ex. people wanting them...

Keep in mind many have had customer service and quality issues with procarparts.

ok, here is a copy of an email i just sent them...i should get a reply back tomorrow or so.

"Hello, my name is Russell Darnell. I know I am beginning to become a pain in your sides about these headlights, but a lot of people in the street explorer community are excited about these headlights, as these are the first (that we were able to find) projection headlights made for any type of explorers. We don't mean to irritate you, but we just want to be able to order them. Here is a link to a thread talking about these headlights at explorerforum(dot)com. http://http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89626. I know you are a busy company trying to satisfy the needs of every make and model, and we are sure thankful you are taking a step in our direction, as not too many companies do, but we just want to know when we will be able to place an order, and if you have pictures of the headlights. Again, thank you for your time and efforts, and all of us at explorerforum thank you for it.

Sincerely,
Russell Darnell
1992 Ford Explorer (Blue Bandit)"

I don't mind about their service. As long as I don't get ripped off. I think I ordered clear corners from them a few years back and got them real quick. I too e-mailed them with a link to this post, but my e-mail was a couple sentences long, pretty much saying at least one more case would be worth their while.

ya, i think ive order a couple things from them my first set of clears (before my wreck) and my white face gauges, but on the guages, im not 100% on.....although my guages are starting to flicker when im driving...if i hit the intrument panel, they stop....i think its just how i have them wired in...hmm, i really dont want to pull apart my dash. but i havent had any bad service with them (knock on wood)

ok, i got the email back from them, and i said what i figured it would say:

"Hi

I dont know when the shipment is coming through so I advise you to just check back at a later time.

NOTE: Due to the high amount of email traffic, please attach your previous message to any future correspondence, should further assistance be necessary.

Johnny
Procarparts.com"

::sighs:: how are we supposed to check back when they dont have it on their site, and they wont give us an answer in the email... i might just have to make my own out of clear glass and tin foil...

I got my reply saying the exact same thing. Maybe we can track down the supplier?

how are we goin to do that, high-jack the truck, and drive it to x-ville? haha, i wish, but seriosuly, how would we find out?

It's kind of weird to me that ProCarParts would be the only place carrying these. I did a search and found: Dead Link Removed - Compare this picture to the picture in this thread. Maybe PCP found some universals like these that fit the Explorer and just listed it as a part instead of giving the dimensions like this place does.

well, if you go and measure your headlight, its not 7x6...ive tried

www.matrixracing.com has tons of headlamps for earlier Rangers. I'm not sure if these are the same as Explorers.. worth a look.

has anyone gotten an email from them lately? still not on the website...

What about the 86-93 Mustang headlight assemblies are they the same size and shape? I can't tell by the pic but do they have a rake to them?

See but the thing is Explorers only have the one bulb but with that type of headlamp you need the high beam and low as different bulbs cuz the high will project outa the bubble thing. i could be wrong.......... but i belive what im saying is right... My friend made projectors for his beretta and didnt come out 2 bad like he had the buble thign and everything but with us explorers we cant take the lense off.

With the Mustang lights and the Ranger lights you would still have a single bulb with high & low beam and then a projector driving light also and as for the F250 style you would have seperate bulbs for high & low beams and still have a spot for the projector driving light. The part that I don't understand is first gen explorers were the same for the first 4 years of production and there are tons of them still on the road but nobody makes lights for them especially good looking ones!

True the first gens have a single bulb, but it's a dual filament bulb with 3 wires.
Simply split the ground between both bulbs and put the high and low supply on the appropriate bulb.
Truck sees the exact same thing, you just have each filament in it's own bulb now.

If you can find headlights to fit.
