Thinking of buying 2007 XLT - need advice!

Well we are getting pretty fed up with our 2002 XLT and at 63,000 miles she's getting to be a real pain in the ass. See my previous posts for all her "ailments".

Today the rear passenger wheel stunk to high heaven, burning smell like the brake was getting locked up or whatever else could cause it and it was so hot you couldn't touch it. Back to the garage tomorrow!

Moving on, we are toying with the idea of getting a 2007 XLT 4x4 V8 typical standard features. Just wanted to know of any major issues out there and as always, any help is appreciated!

Opinion on buying a new Explorer

I can only tell you that this is my last Explorer. Thank God I spent $1,300 on the extended warrantee. I have had in the shop several times, one thing after the other, They are beautiful HOT looking vehicles. Transmission problems on both the 1996 (out 0f warrantee) and the 2002. The transfer drive went out on the 2002 along with a “leak” in the read differential, the EOM and temp, compass went out. Now I have the temp gauge given me wrong reading (out of warrantee). The paint keeps peeling off the luggage rack. I am heading for the new Hummer3. we’ll see what a GMC product holds out. That is my opinion, my daughter had a Toyota Sequoia, and loves it.
