this forum is dead

It's all what you want to make it... The management is very open to ideas, and doesn't discriminate;)

As much as the bias on this site is squarely on the off-road side (whether it be marketing material, the make-up of the moderators or what not) I've never had a desire to go offroad, lift my Ex or do anything else of the sort. Jon (Turdle) and I had a good chat about that when I was in Kansas. I totally understand his logic for transforming the Turdle from one of the sweetest street rides anywhere to what it is today. . I definitely consider myself a "streeter" despite the fact I'll never go anywhere but stock height.

I've been a regular on the site for a reason and it's not because of offroading or street bias. It's because the site has by far the best information (quality and quantity) for the Explorer anywhere. As much as I respect Todd and consider him an "online friend", I just don't agree with him that there are better "street" resources on the www with respect to the Explorer. If there are, I haven't found them yet despite the fact (ack!) I am a member on other automotive sites. I frequent those sites for other reasons, but I spend the bulk of my time on this site because there is so much more to offer due to the volume of users who post here.

Just my $0.02 (Canuck bucks which are almost at par with the Greenback). :D

Nope. They don't have me to moderate them, so it cannot happen.

Precisely. :)

Great forum!

I've owned some form of Jeep (started with a 1950 Willys) since 1964 but my off road days are over. This year I sold my Grand Cherokee and bought an Explorer Sport. I lowered it 3/4 inch to slightly improve handling but mainly because the wheels looked off center in the wheel openings at the stock height.

In the 4 months I've been on this forum I've saved time and money by benefitting from the documented experience that other members have shared. I've performed tasks myself that I might not have were it not for the guidance of others. I value the advice I receive from other members when I consider or attempt something that has not been done before. I'm not familiar with other forums but this one is a great one!

It's all what you want to make it... The management is very open to ideas, and doesn't discriminate;) To me a well built vehicle is what it's all about no matter what purpose it was built for.

Explorer/Ranger owners are lucky. There are a lot of vehicles which can be modified for off-road and a lot that can be built into street trucks, but how many SUVs and P/Us look and work great either way??
