this is kinda weird???

ok so i did the fluid and filter change. When i took off the pan and got the filter out I noticed it was different than the one I had bought from the store. So i took the replacement back to return it along with the old one for referance. The guy there looked it up in the computer again and according to the comp. the one i bought was supposed to be right one.

He tried going through different years on the comp,...(I have a 93) we looked at 91 92 93 94 all the same, then he tried a 1995 and it was the filter i needed.
how could that be....If I have a 1993 explorer?????

There were some changes in these filters. Do you have 2WD or 4WD? The filter on my 88 is slightly different than on my 89.

i have 4wd....ill try to find some pics if i can.

then i returned it becaue my tranny had this one in there...

The 4WD filter has a deep sump.
