Thornbirds vs. Swamper TSL

Well, I've searched thru old posts on Thornbirds and there seems to be mixed feelings on them.

We are in search of tires for our '79 F250. The size is 33x12.50x16.5, but we can go just a little bit bigger. The truck will see a wide range of terrain, dirt, rocks, slick clay mud, water, etc. Which should we get as far as quality and performance, as well as best bang for the buck? Thanks alot,

The TSL's and the Thornbirds are designed differently. The TSL's are designed to sink to the bottom of the mud and grab bottom. The Thornbirds are more of a floatation tire. There purpose is to stay on top of the mud and float across. Both tires have large outer lugs for pulling out of ruts. The Thornbirds do last a lot longer than the TSL's. On my explorer I run 36x12.50 TSL's. I prefer the looks and performance over the Thornbirds. In my opinion the TSL's out perform the Thornbirds. The Thornbird is classified as Interco Swampers all-terrain tire.

I would like to second Matts opinion on this one!!!
Thornbirds are just weenie tires to me. I would rather go through the mud then over the mud. I to run 36" TSLs and I love them compared to thornbirds. Even though I'm lookin into the SSRs but the TSLs are the best all around tire I've ran so far.
