I will agree with what has been said and add this.
I have raced 5.0's for several years and often see guys that are new to going off and buying big TB's or even worse spending $350-$500 on a new intake as one of there first mods. The key here is that the air intake of an engine is a copperative effort of all components meaning,,,if you want to reap the benefits of a bigger TB you will also need a better flowing intake, better flowing intake ports on your heads, a bigger (I hate to use the word bigger but we will get into that later) cam, and a better flowing MA meter. without upgrading all at the same time you will always have some part of your intake system holding you back from making MAJOR improvements in HP. That is not to say that you won't get a lot of little improvements buying these items one buy one if your wallet can't take the hit all at once as is the case with most of us.
The key is to understand what you're changing and to not expect to much! Remeber, because it doesn't feel better doesn't mean you aren't making an improvement. The ASSonometer lies TRUST ME! You can put a big set of gears in anything and make it feel fast, but it will wind out in 400 feet.
My overall suggestion is plan wisely, be resonable with your goals and understand that the real benefit may not show up till later!
Good Luck!
