Hi my uncle's explorer has this awful thumping in the front end when your going down the road. We have changed wheel barrings , checked the brake callipers, the itle arms, ext. Someone even said that the little brake dust shield could be causing it. We have tried everything but to no avail. He said it was doing it once before and he took it to someone and they got it to stop but only for a short time. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them? and if so what can I do? Thank you.

A thump as opposed to a metallic clunking might be due to a bad tire......try switching rears to front and see if the thumping changes. imp
