Time for a system - Need suggestions

I plan on upgrading within the next month. I'm interested in getting a head unit, replacing the speakers in the doors, and pickin' up a sub and amp.

I think I'm going to go with a single 10", since I listen to a lot of hardcore and metal rock. I'm not experienced with car audio, so I'm not sure what I should get and what's the bang for the buck. If I get just a single 10", will I need a high-end amp? I need some suggestions for the sub and amp, I'd appreciate the help.

well i have 3 jl w6s and i also listen to metal and i think it sound crazy..
any ways jl audio is wut i have.. amps door speakers, tweeters,
they are a little xpensive but worth it

Before you get bombarded with brand names, and things that don't suit your needs, what kind of budget are you looking at? Are you looking for an enclosure that takes up as little space as possible? If that is an issue you need to find a subwoofer that will work well in a small area. Are you buying a box, or can you build one yourself?Are you more concerned with sound quality or volume?

I would sugest goingto a shop(or two) and listening to differant speakers. What sounds good to one may not to another. let your ears deciede. I have used JLs for years even them taking me to a world Championship in sound quality.

yea amen. you cant ask people what you need for your system, you ahve to explore. everyone has their own opinions about wahts the best and stuff. just figure it out yourself, or just buy something cheap and be pissed at it till it breaks.

Try Elemental Designs. I sold my JL ZR components for Elementals, and their subs are excellent, great prices too.
