I am in the market for a new set of tires now that winter is here. But being that my X was in the accident a few months ago and I am sort of in the market for a new vehicle I don't want to spend a lot. My current set of tires which were on the X since I bought it in August of '03 are Uniroyal Laredo (235/75/R15) that have been a decent set in wet and dry conditions for over the 40,000 miles I have put on them. These tires were used and abused and still put up with it, if it wasn't for the up and coming snow I would still use these for a little while longer. I was going to go with Uniroyal Laredo AWT's to match my spare but the place down the street from me no longer carries Uniroyal. Told the guy my situation and he offered me a set of Republic (supposed to be a brand of Goodyear) all-seasons on sale for 49.99 each. Have you guys heard of these and can you give me your opinions. Thanks.

I dont know that you will get many responses about tires in the $50 price range. I suppose if you are about to sell the truck, go with the cheapist. I absolutly love my Bridgestone Dueler REVO's, but they are going to be more expensive than those Republics. Good luck.

It is just me but your tires are the only part of your X that touches the road and I would reccom. that you put a decent pair of tires. Dependding on what are looking at for a next vehicle you can transfer over the tires. Go to tirerack.com and take a look at the customer reviews. The Goodyear At/s's are good tires Michelin LTX are great tires and I love mine the revo's are a good choice along with the BFG AT's. I had a set of sidewinder radials a while back and they were decent at $75 a tire and lasted a little more then 36,x.. miles
