Timing belt tension

Is there a way to adjust the timing chain tension on a '98 Ranger?

...i do not think so but the problem could be your chain tensioner...good luck...

Thanks. It is a 4.0 and I am suspecting the tensioner is malfunctioning. I was hoping it could be adjusted rather than replacing the tensioner. You answered my question.
