Tips for fan clutch

Take the Therm housing off, unplug the one Injector and just ever so slightly snug up the one Input manifold Nut in that corner. It worked for me.
Don't go crazy! the hardware is supposed to be torqued to 18 ft lbs. so just a little snugging up may save you several hours of disassembly
That didn't work Tony, but thanks for the suggestion regardless! Just FYI, went through the entire procedure - gasket was definitely in need of replacement. Replaced a bunch of vacuum tubes for the emission control system with new plus a thermostat as part of the process (heck I was in there anyway) and now the old Exploder is humming along nicely and leaving no puddles of any sort. :exp: :D :chug:

I just replaced my water pump on a 96 explorer with the 5.0. Go to O'reilly auto parts and rent the wrench. It worked like a charm. Of course that was after spending 2 hours and two different trips to Autozone to get the "correct" size wrench which still did not fit. Good luck.
