Well, somehow...i was washing my X the other day and i noticed that it front left of my pinstripe was missing...and some of it was peeling. I had thought about taking it off...but can i take it off without it leaving a mark. Where the one spot that came off...it left a mark..but you can't notice it really unless you know about it...and i hate that because i can notice it. I still have a half decent painjob....if i remove the stripe do you think i will be able to buff it out? Any tips on dealing with this...lemme know

Power wash it off, works like a charm and won't leave a mark.

Powerwash the mark it left....or the pinstripe? What if i have a chip in the paint...wont it make that chip bigger?

Use simple green or some type of degreaser if that does not work try to use compound on it (lightly). That is how I got my marks off.

You cant remove the paint fade if thats what your talking about...buffing doesnt really help that much, jus makes it looks like a shinier line :-P

I took mine off a while ago, I just get it muddy so people dont see it :)

I pulled the pinstripe of mh '97 with no problems. I just started in the door jam then you heat it up with a hairdryer and then work your way around the vehicle.

hopes this helps

On our 1992, the pinstriping was starting to come off in 1 spot near the rear so we decided to remove it.

We waiting for a hot day.. 105 degrees outside or so and then just kinda peeled it off.. it came right off..

Now there is a slight line down the side of the truck, but I like how that looks better than the pinstripe looked.
