Tire Carrier

Very nice Paul! You know though, if you had a bumper like mine (4"x6"x1/4"wall box) you wouldn't have to worry about hitting ANYTHING! LOL :D

I really do like the looks of the carrier and the Herculiner, I'll have to do the Herculiner to mine.

BTW, I have started work on my front bumper. Well I say started, the design drawing is done and I'm working on getting the steel now (fax just came in from the supply house!). Now its :hammer: time.

Rick
PS. Hope to see you @ TELLICO!

How can I spend this kind of money and NOT go back to Tellico ?!?!?

Thanks for the compliments. Rockstomper only sells the hinge. The latch was dreamt up by the welder, and I think he did a great job. I know a lot of guys with fabbed carriers have pins to secure the carrier, this latch was his idea (and since it seemed like a good one I let him run with it). So far (all 50 miles ;) ) it has been rattle-free.

Was thinking about hatch protection today. Thought about picking up one of those styrofoam "noodles" that kids use in pools and stuff (about 3' long - funky colors). Looks kind of like pipe insulation (without the cutout for the pipe). Maybe wedge some of that between the carrier and the hatch when I go four wheeling. Just a thought . . .
Would like to see the pics if you get the chance to post them.

The guy who did the fabbing could not believe I didn't want Hi-Lift mount, fuel can, axe holder, back up light, antenna mount etc. If I got all the options your rack has, how would I justify my roof rack?
Glad to hear you've started the new front bumper - - have you made the arrangements for the "option" you plan on adding?
The Herculiner works great. It hasn't started fading yet, but hopefully it will blend with the Line-X.

Hope I can get back to Tellico . . .:bounce:

Yeeeeoouuuchhhh !!!

Although I can't see the whole carrier, mine looks quite a bit like yours (at least the upper portion).

Hope to keep the sheet metal straight (my body work skills are nil).

Thanks again for the info.

Paul

Paul,

Yea, it is going to have a 3/8" plate covered by another 1/4" plate for the option (winch) mount. I was thinking of going with a miltimount unit, but I'm thinking of a hard mount now. If I change my mind later I still mount a reciver.

BTW, the metal will be here Friday!

Oh, almost forgot..........TELLICO!!!

Can you get that guy to make me one? I'll just send him the $250.:D
